From Wall Street to Purpose-Driven Law: A Year of Alignment and Renewal
If you’ve ever wondered whether it’s possible to step away from a long corporate career and build a business rooted in your faith and values, I hope my story offers you encouragement, not just a list of achievements.
For 15 years, I had the privilege of serving as corporate counsel inside some of the highest-ranked law firms in the country and prestigious financial institutions on Wall Street.
Those years stretched me, shaped me, and trained me at the highest professional levels. I learned discipline, precision, and how to operate with excellence under extreme pressure.
And truthfully, there were many things I loved about that season:
- The stability.
- The structure.
- The brilliant teams.
- The sense of being part of something bigger than myself.
I’m grateful for every year of that career. It gave me a foundation I still draw from daily.
But even in the success, I felt a quiet stirring.
It was a gentle, persistent tug from God. Not to simply "leave corporate life for entrepreneurship," but to step into deeper alignment. I began to long for work that allowed me to integrate faith with strategy... to serve purpose-driven founders... and to practice law in a way that honored integrity, wisdom, and compassion.
Eventually, I couldn’t ignore that tug any longer.
So I walked away from a career that many people spend decades building. Not because it wasn’t good, but because God was calling me into something different.
That calling became Faithfully Legal™.
I didn’t step out with a perfect plan. I stepped out with a quiet yes.
What unfolded over the next year still humbles me. Clients came; mission-led founders, ministries, and purpose-driven entrepreneurs who wanted to build with clarity and integrity. Opportunities unfolded in ways I could never have orchestrated myself.
Within a year, I rebuilt what I thought I was losing when I left corporate law. But the true story isn’t financial.
The true story is how God refilled my soul.
This work has brought me back to life. I’ve prayed for wisdom before strategy sessions, watched clients breathe easier when they finally felt protected, and witnessed how strong legal foundations release people into their calling instead of restricting them.
I was reminded that when we build from alignment, not ambition, God meets us in the work. He multiplies what we surrender.
Looking Ahead to the New Year
As we approach year-end, many entrepreneurs are asking important questions:
- Is my business protected?
- Are my contracts supporting my mission?
- Is my structure aligned with my goals?
These questions matter because clarity and protection allow you to lead with confidence, not worry.
To support business owners in this season, I created a simple Year-End Legal Foundation Checkup. It is a gentle tool designed to help you assess gaps, strengthen your protections, and start the new year aligned and equipped.
If it serves you, you’re welcome to access it here:
I’m closing this year with deep gratitude, to God for His steady guidance, to the corporate years that prepared me, and to the clients who trusted me with their missions.
My prayer is that whatever you are building, you build it with clarity, integrity, and purpose, rooted in the truth of who you are and led by your values and faith which order our steps.
With grace and clarity,
Dian Trabulsy, Esq.
